I was using the half ounce glow wonder to bounce off the bottom in shallows for sole and greenling which works great during the fall. I was out today and saw little splashes on the surface, thought I would cast one out over it and whem, I got a king on, did it again, caught another one. none of them were big enough to keep, but I now know that these knock them dead.

Saltwater surprise!

I had ordered the blue mackerel pattern a few months ago and it was great in the kelp off of La Jolla Ca. It caught calico bass and was chased by Bonita too. The real fans of this lure were the barracuda. They would chase it and crush it when I stopped the retrieve and let it flutter down a few feet. I caught seven of those toothy guys and the finish held up. I tried the trout finish as well because it looks like wrasse called a Señorita. Slower retrieve then flutter then wham! I'll try the chub next.
