Think of it like a shallow bulldawg, but better

This lure straight up kills pressured fish that have seen it all before. The tail style moves more water and kicks at slower retrieves than a bulldawg. It also runs shallower. I fish a pressured river in the south (VA), and they absolutely love this thing in the winter. Me and my friends probably caught 30 fish on it last winter. I fish it painfully slow, just fast enough so that tail is kicking. Every now and then jerk the rod and you might convert a follower into an eater. Most the time they follow it right to the boat and t-bone it on the first turn of the 8. I upgraded the hooks to 5/0 gamakatsu nickels and haven't looked back.
